23rd May 2010 On Sunday 23rd May between 2pm and 5pm, the Hayling’s BEST M.T.I. ‘Playing on the Plaza’ series of free live music events, began its 2010 season on the 'Plaza’ at Eastoke Corner.
The sun burst down on the first event making it a scorcher of a day on the 'Plaza'
Once again for the 3rd year running those Island lads from 'Rusty Strings' rocked the plaza and started off the 2010 season albeit slightly earlier than planned as 'Bad Obsession' pulled out at short notice, not phased by this the 'Rusty Strings' arrived earlier than planned and after a quick sound check started the show with some of their classic tunes.
For the second half of the afternoon we where greeted by Councillor John Smith who opened the season of these 'Free' outside music events at Eastoke corner.
'Rik and the Rivieras' then rocked the Plaza and it was not long before the crowds were tapping their feet to their rock and roll sounds. Before long the front of the stage was packed with folks dancing the afternoon away.
