Past EVENTS from 2023 Monday 29th May THE DAVES A fantastic local band consist of 3 Dave's and 2 interlopers with Dave as their middle name. Playing classic rock covers with a few original songs as well, these guys will rock the canopy off the Plaza! THE D'UKES OF HAYLING A fantastic group of ukulele players that perform all over Hayling and locally.They meet on a Thursday at the Barley Mow Pub and welcome any new players. Their music is upbeat, lively and fun. You're sure to want to get up for a dance when this group performs SKARN Skarn is a 4-piece band playing acoustic high energy rock covers! We do our own acoustic versions of classic bangers from Motorhead, AC/DC, Royal Blood, Nirvana, Beastie Boys, and more!  Formed in Fareham in the summer of 2022 with Lottie singing, Matt on mandolin and banjo, Martin on bouzouki, Rob on bass. THE PLASTIC SHAMROCKS 3 piece band of Hayling musicians,focusing on the better known Irish and Pop Classics that will get your feet tapping and the voice singing for an uplifting time. MODA CODA Harmonizing Duo comprising of Mo on 12 string guitar and Dawn singing and playing guitar and flute. Playing some well known songs with a twist and some lesser know songs too. Upbeat, soulful and harmonious. MARK HANDLEY A well known and loved Islander who has been entertaining us for many years with his original music. Dance to reggae and other uplifting  beats, relax to soulful ballads and laugh at some fun songs too. Mark brings a wonderful showmanship to the stage. SATURDAY JULY 15TH 12pm - 1pm  IAN From just over the water in Portsmouth, Ian performs acoustic covers starting with Pop Rock from the 90s all the way through to modern day classics 1pm - 2pm  SCOTT Another great soloist performing even more well known and loved songs. Hayling Island is in for another great day at The Plaza, with the return of the Ready To Rock School students to the island for another great afternoon of live rock music at Eastoke Corner, raising funds for SMILE4WESSEX charity. www.smile4wessex.org Over 10 adult, teen and junior student bands from the Havant, Waterlooville, Petersfield and Portsmouth Ready To Rock School rock schools will be performing. This summer's charity is SMILE4WESSEX which supports the Wessex Neurological Centre in Southampton. It is one of the largest and most highly respected neurological centres in the UK, providing acute and specialist care to patients from across Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, West Sussex, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands. All donations for SMILE4WESSEX gratefully accepted throughout the afternoon. Something different and eclectic. A very exciting hour of music! 3pm - 4pm    PETTY CRIMINALS Any Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks fans out there? Well you're in for a huge treat. Singing the songs of these two amazing musical icons, you will be bowled over by this bands fantastic sound. Definitely not one to be missed! SUNDAY AUGUST 13TH 2023 1pm - 2pm  GOING BACK BAND We are thrilled to welcome this amazing band to the Plaza. Bringing pure musical nostalgia to Hayling these fantastic musicians will be playing tunes from the 50's and 60's Foot tapping, dancing and singing along to some great hits...you won’t be able to stop yourselves! 2.15pm - 2.45pm   DANCE FUSION WITH LAURA Think you’re just going to sit and listen to the band?...think again! Between our band sets Laura will be getting you up and moving with some uplifting and easy dance routines. She combines lots of different dance styles including line dancing, salsa and many more with great music 3pm - 4pm GOING BACK BAND  Returns to finish off the afternoon! SATURDAY 19TH AUGUST DI ELLE AND THE IGLOO BAND A CHOIR An exciting afternoon of music today! Di Elle brings her amazing Igloo Band and Choir to entertain us all . 12.30pm - 1.30pm  The Igloo Band The Band is made up of her adult music students playing guitars, Bass and Ukuleles singing classic hits through the ages from Fleetwood Mac to the Spice Girls! 1.30pm - 2.30pm Di Elle's Vocal Workshop Now this will be fun. Di Elle will be using her years of music teaching to run a 4 chord mashup vocal workshop. If you love singing then come along and have a go. Learn 4 part singing in a fun and easy way. 2.30pm - 3.30pm   The Igloo Choir This is a company for Adult learners who wish to learn music and sing for fun. They are a colourful and creative group singing original and popular songs. The Audience is encouraged to join in!  3.30pm - 4.30pm The Igloo Band They will come back and finish off the entertainment for the day.
